How we handle your information.

ChesterJob is a freelance work platform operated by Woodrow Chester & Co. ("we", "us", "our"). We connect approved freelancers with paid briefs published by our internal divisions and partner agencies. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information you give us directly. When you create an account, complete an application, build a profile, claim a brief, deliver work, or contact support, we collect what you provide. That may include:

• Name, email address, and password
• Country, timezone, and language preference
• Bio, portfolio links, niches/trades, and hourly rate
• Files you upload as part of your application or deliverables
• Payment details required to receive payouts
• Messages and notes you send to the team

Information collected automatically. When you use the Service we automatically collect technical information, including:

• IP address, device type, browser, and operating system
• Pages viewed, actions taken, and timestamps
• Referring URLs and search terms
• Errors and performance metrics
• Cookies and similar storage (see Cookies section)

Information from third parties. We may receive information about leads from platforms we are subscribed to (for example, freelance marketplaces). This information is used to generate proposals, not to profile you.

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
• Review and decide on freelancer applications and tier assignments
• Match you with relevant briefs and process claims
• Review deliverables, request revisions, and release payouts
• Communicate with you about your account, work, and security
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud and abuse
• Comply with legal obligations
• Analyze usage to improve performance, reliability, and design

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your deliverable files to train AI models, and our subprocessors are contractually prohibited from doing so on our behalf.

We share information only with parties who help us run the Service ("subprocessors"), or where required by law. Current subprocessors include:

• Hosting: Vercel (frontend), Railway (API), Neon (database), Upstash (Redis cache), Cloudflare R2 (file storage)
• Email: Resend (transactional email delivery)
• AI: Anthropic (proposal drafting and review assistance — no deliverable files are sent)
• Search: Meilisearch (indexing for board search)
• Monitoring: Sentry (error tracking and performance)
• Payments: Payout providers used to send you money (varies by region)

We may also disclose information to comply with valid legal process, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, your information may transfer to the successor.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

• Account data: kept while the account is open
• Application records: kept up to 24 months after decision
• Financial records: kept up to 7 years for tax and audit purposes
• Deliverable files: kept while the related engagement is active, and up to 12 months after closure for quality review
• Audit logs: kept up to 24 months

You can request earlier deletion subject to our legal obligations (see Your Rights).

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your information
• Receive a portable copy of your information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time (transactional emails about your account will continue)

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@woodrowchester.com. We will respond within 30 days. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We are based in Lebanon and serve freelancers globally. Information you provide may be processed in countries outside your home jurisdiction, including the United States and European Union (where most of our subprocessors operate). Where required by law, we put in place standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect your information.

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Hashed passwords and rotated session tokens
• Access controls, audit logging, and rate limits on sensitive endpoints
• Regular security reviews and dependency monitoring

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we discover a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

The Service is intended for use by people who are at least 16 years old, and freelancer claims require you to be 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and improve performance. See our Cookie Policy for details and your choices.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-product and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
